E-Books and Surveys Arriving Next Weekend!
24 days ago – Thu, Mar 05, 2026 at 03:42:48 PM

Hello all you story lovers,

Happy Thursday. This update comes with important news. Your E-Books,Off the Treacherous Track and Sea Tome Pages, will be arriving March 14th!

As a prior update announced, the main novel of this campaign, Off the Treacherous Track, has been finished for quite some time; while the Sea Tome Pages novella was completed this week. Hope you all are looking forward to an exciting mystery from both stories. Now that surveys are scheduled, proof copies of the Case 01 paperback and hardcover will be ordered to check quality. I am aiming for tomorrow, but the order submission may need to be pushed to next week depending on time. These inspections will be shared with you all via a future update.

After some thought, I've decided to keep Sea Tome Pages a Kickstarter Exclusive novella. It will not be found at any other retailer, but will be available during every Spectral Tempest Press Kickstarter campaign at the same $1 price. Just a little something that will stay unique to Spectral Tempest Press.

Survey Phase

The surveys will be coming via Backerkit email with your E-Books. Through them, you may modify your orders to include more add-ons that you may have missed out on during the campaign. This option will remain open for one month, so take your time to look around!

E-book backers: If you only backed digital rewards and add-ons (E-Books), you don't need to complete the survey unless you wish to sign up for the mailing list through it. You can also be added by visiting the bottom of Spectral Tempest Press' homepage.

Physical book backers: If you got a physical book with your pledge or plan to add one, you'll be required to complete the survey so you can provide your mailing address for fulfillment. Shipping costs will also be collected at this time. Prices will vary based on the number of books purchased due to package weight and dimensions.

Non-US backers: Given current global conditions, shipping for backers outside of the US will vary even more based on your country, both in price and time. I promise to do everything I can to get you your books, but potentials delays may become expected. I will keep you appraised of any issues. Any and all VAT or international shipping fees will be on the backer to cover.

Signed Edition backers: This survey will be your opportunity to determine where you would like the signature and the ink color for your novels.

While orders can be upgraded for up to a month, your mailing address will not be locked until mid-May, with a minimum three-day warning update posted prior. An exact date will be shared with the proof inspection, but it all really comes down to when the novels arrive from the printer. Physical books will be shipped immediately after they're stamped and signed. Starting the printing process now, I'm confident in a late-May fulfillment.

Upcoming Spectral Tempests

Duet Beneath Moonlight

Save for the prologue, Case 02 still needs to go through Developmental Editing, which I now plan to start either late-Spring or early-Summer.

A personal rule of mine is that I cannot have cover art made until the first draft of any story is completed. Helps me stay on track with completing a novel and not get too distracted with other projects. While Duet Beneath Moonlight's rough draft has been completed for several months now, I had decided to still refrain on the cover art until all the editing for this campaign was completed. With Sea Tome Pages done, a great reveal may be coming soon.

Bridge of Tillai Act 2

I'll be taking a short break from Ravilo. Which means you can expect to see some serious progress to pick up for this next act in the terror bearing down on the Enclave. You may have a hard time recognizing a certain ferlor-bridged.

Backerkit Store

For the first time ever, Spectral Tempest Press will be opening the Backerkit store throughout the survey phase!

During this 31-day survey span, non-backers of the campaign will have the option to pick up a copy of any book available during this campaign, excluding signed editions. This will be advertised to backers of previous campaigns as well, but feel free to spread the word to others who would love a copy of Eliza's first case or any other story from Spectral Tempest Press. Who knows? It may be beneficial to have read the two prologue sneak peeks included with this edition when the October 2026 campaign comes around.

That's all for now. We're nearing the end of this campaign, and it's been a thrill having you all for the voyage!

Off the Treacherous Track is Completed!
about 1 month ago – Tue, Feb 17, 2026 at 04:53:28 PM

Happy Tuesday Everyone,

We have a short, but exciting, update today. I'm happy to announce that the Kickstarter edition of ATiS Case 01 has been completed!

This includes: All editing sessions, Case 02: Duet Beneath Moonlight pre-release* prologue, Bridge of Tillai Act 2 pre-release* prologue, and Dazon's Notes on shadejacktresy.

*Note: pre-release material have gone through developmental editing only and will receive the full editing process prior to the novels' actual release.

It is guaranteed you will receive your E-books this upcoming March, with May fulfillment of physical books still on track. I'll have an official date set for emailing surveys and E-book fulfillment in the coming weeks; but for now, rest easy knowing your wait will come to an end soon.

As for Sea Tome Pages, this novella is still waiting on Copy-editing, but that should be completed by the second week of March, likely sooner. For this week, I'll be taking a slight breather from editing and will return to writing for a bit. Fresh inspiration has struck for Bridge of Tillai Act 2, and I want to get the scenes out of my head and onto the page before they're lost.

That's it for now. Keep an eye on your inboxes and expect to see your surveys and E-Books in there when mid-March comes around.

Hope you all have a great night!

MLK Jr. Day Update
2 months ago – Mon, Jan 19, 2026 at 03:34:04 PM

Happy Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Everyone. A day in honor of the great civil rights legend.

The campaign has made some good progress since the last check-in. Here's a quick Editing Phase update.

Off the Treacherous Track

Copy-editing 1 has officially begun today. This editing session is planned to be concluded within 3-4 weeks, with the final proofreading to come a week later. On schedule for the March E-book release.

Sea Tome Pages

Line-editing was finished almost a week ago. It will officially go into copy-editing after Off the Treacherous Track's rounds are completed. On schedule for the March E-book release.

ATiS Case 02: Duet Beneath Moonlight

This third entry into the ATiS series has been moved into Developmental Editing, but only for the prologue to be included in this Kickstarter launch edition of Off the Treacherous Track. Should be done by this week. Further editing will wait until the 1st draft completion of Bridge of Tillai Act 2.

Bridge of Tillai Act 2

This sequel's prologue will also receive Developmental Editing this week, but will remain in the 1st draft percent phase at 31%. Since the rough draft is not completed.

That's about it for now. I wish peaceful days come soon to us all. Please treat your neighbors, your community, your neighboring communities with kindness and respect through these troubling times. And when you can, try to offer a helping hand.

Thank you for braving the Tempest.

Happy New Years!
3 months ago – Sat, Jan 03, 2026 at 08:02:02 PM

Happy 2026 Everyone!

Spectral Tempest Press is happy to join you all in the new year. Hope you had an exciting first step into a fresh start and that your stress of 2025 resolve into just a memory. I thank you all for your patience with this holiday hiatus and would like to reward it by sharing the fantastic progress that has been made towards campaign fulfillment. With some small teasers here and there.

Off the Treacherous Track

In making up for November's delay, the final Line-Editing session for Case 1 was completed on schedule by the final week of December. It was quite a sprint, but dialogue and scene descriptions were tightened up to make for a suspenseful mystery. You won't be disappointed! The novel will truly begin Copy-Editing I by January 18th. The Dazon's Shadejacktresy Notes appendix will be completed in late-February, as this step will not take up much time.

For now, my attention will be on the other work funded through this campaign. Speaking of....

Sea Tome Pages

Line-Editing 1 has begun for this Fantasy (Horror-esque) novella, but should be moving into Line-Editing 2 by the end of the weekend. This fun experiment has been as great to edit as it was to write. Personally, editing is the most satisfying part of publishing because its when my stories truly come to life. Playing with details to make characters real, and the dire of their circumstances more daunting.

Duet Beneath Moonlight

You can certainly expect to learn a great deal more about the Shadejacktresy Art on this case.

Still no further movement on this next entry in the ATiS series. But editing for the prologue, which will be included in these special editions, should be done mid-February.

Bridge of Tillai Act 2

The homecoming of our lost hakur has clawed a path towards the Enclave’s fall. Maybe the intertwined fates of two can save it.

After the Nanowrimo success, writing progress on this sequel has been paused at ~1/3 complete. Like with Duet Beneath Moonlight, the prologue will be editted mid-February to be included with the Case 1 special editions.

Digital Fulfillment

Current progress on Case 1 and Sea Tome Pages has made me confident in a mid-March 2026 release for the E-Books to all backers. They will be distributed via a Backerkit survey sent to backer email addresses on file with Kickstarter.

Physical-tier Backers: These surveys will ask for shipping information, payment, and (if you are a signed edition backer) your preference in how you would like your copy of Case 1 signed. Completion of these surveys are required in order to ship books.

E-book Only Backers: You will still receive a survey, as this is how your E-Books will be distributed, but will not be required to fill it out unless you wish to join the Spectral Tempest Press mailing list. It will also be an opportunity for you to update your pledge to any physical tier or include an add-on that was available during this campaign. Signed editions will not be available.

Survey Phase

I plan for these surveys to remain open until mid-April. Future updates will announce the specific date that surveys will be locked. At that point, shipping payment will be collected so book orders can be submitted to the printer by next day. The survey phase of fulfillment is when quality control copies of the paperback and hardcovers will be ordered. These will be shared with you all through another campaign update before the bulk order is placed.

That's All For Now

Thank you again for your patience and for backing this campaign. As always, this campaign has been a fun way to connect with you all and share special treats with fellow story lovers.

Cheers to what we will make a fantastic year!
